New
Indian Visa Rules Explained:
An Employment Visa is now required for doing
any unpaid Charity / Voluntary work in India
|
|
Since
early 2010, the Indian govt has made quite a
few changes to the visa application processes.
Tightening the visa rules regarding tourist
visas (2 month re-entry into India restriction
on multiple entry visa) and more recently changed
the type of visa required for doing voluntary/charity
work or working with a registered NGO or any
charitable organisations. A tourist visa is
no longer appropriate for doing any kind of
voluntary work.All

Many
Gap year companies and tour operators selling
voluntourism programs in India DO NOT
advise travellers of these new rules and are
thereby seriously jeopardising their trip to
India. |
|
Yearoutindia
acknowledges that the new Indian Visa Fees (especially
for British Volunteers) are very high for volunteering
on worthwhile projects in India. But, when volunteering
with Yearoutindia, the combined project fee
and the new Indian visa fee are still significantly
lower when compared to just the fee alone charged
by other commercial gap year organisations &
travel companies / tour operators. |
| Yearoutindia
encourages volunteers to apply for the correct
Entry Visa / Employment Visa for voluntary work
rather than risk using a Tourist visa. |
|
Yearoutindia
coordinators in your country will guide all
applicants through the new Indian Visa process
and help at ALL levels in obtaining the appropriate
visas. You will be able to travel with peace
of mind and enjoy your placement / experience
